    Der ewige Jude postcards...

I may have gone overboard. I bought one then found another, and another ,and another....

    Where to stop?

In my defense, there are different postmarks, stamp usage and the like, but this is one those moments where I don't show my wife everything.

To switch gears from the more lighthearted tack I took in the post above, here is another anti semitic themed card created by the husband/wife team Axster-Heudtlass. Very graphic.

To me, this card is among the most ominous of the anti Jewish designs. There are no cartoonish images, only the yellow star. To go after a segment of the population, the German authorities used the enforced wearing the star to call attention to their inherent 'apartness' from the general population. The use of Sara and Isreal further differentiated Jews from their non Jewish neighbors.

"When you see this sign" is all that's necessary for the reader of the card to know what to do. The person who wears the star is shunned, stigmatized, and alienated from all around him who don't bear the Star.

This is a historically important card which bears witness to the dynamics of state enforced anti semitic policies. A sad chapter.

I understand, I have many of those "moments" where I don't show my wife everthing in relation to the hobby.
