Halle-Merseburg Volkssturm document

Hi all!

Just wanted to share this document, a "Beorderung" by the Halle-Merseburg Volkssturm, making known that the man receiving it (Alfred Grader, from the city of Leuna) is by that moment a member of the Volkssturm. On its reverse it's bearing additional info for the recruit.

"Beorderung" Document

Thanks for posting Stray Dog!

Nice document, combines two of my many interests,Volkssturm and Gauleiters!

When I saw your document,it prompted me to go look for mine as I wanted to see you had "signed" it. My document is similar to yours, but I was most curious regarding the signature aspect. It was not signed by the Gauleiter. My document is "signed" by Gräntz, the signature, printed.

I assume that the "signature" of Eggeling is printed as well? I have an original signature of Eggeling, who was killed in the defence of his city. Gräntz was also killed as well.

Believe my document is a report to duty for a work party

Anyone else have any of these?

Cheers
Bill

Hi Bill!

Your document is indeed an order to report for duty in a work party, for digging trenches and foxholes. A really nice document indeed! Thanks for posting!

The "signature" of Eggeling in mine is definately printed on it, these documents must have been massively printed. Maybe it's just me, but I haven't seen many of these around. Volkssturm members destroying everything connecting them to the war effort just before and after the end of "total war"?

Cheers, Giorgos

Hello,
I purchased lately this Volkssturm document.
It appears to be the twin of Giorgos's document.
Same GAU, same day (29 Oktober 1944). Only the city is different.

Hope you enjoy.

Interesting Dokuments! I also had a Beorderung from Halle-Merseburg some time ago. In my document the signatures where also printed. I´ve never seen such items from any other Gau, but at least 5 from Halle-Merseburg!
The unit-description in the document from Berlin is interesting
Volkssturm-Arbeitsbataillon, there must´ve been a great number of these construction units for all the anti-tank-trenches!
