Rare late-war portrait

Hello,

This came together with a motorised gendarmerie lot: a 24-04-'45 dated portrait. This has to be one of the latest portraits I ever handled! As said before it came with the M-G lot, but I'm not sure this soldier was part of that. Maybe somebody can help determine his branch by his shoulderboard?

ps. the caption on the backside doesn't look german to me. Some other opinions?

End of preview, maybe will post some more tonight or tomorrow. There are much more interesting photo's. Partisan hunt, burning villages, blown up cars, group photo's with clear insignia's etc etc. Too bad I just can't get a clear focus with this crappy scanner...
