    Where and what is called?

    Hi,

My Ure Gross Mutter passed away a short time ago and my Ure Gross uncle found what I would assume are post cards of some kind of Fortress or complex and he's wondering what this place is. So I'm wondering if anyone knows Where it is and what is it may be called? Thanks.

Not just any General, but Paul von Hindenburg himself! Hindenburg had a very famous WWI victory at Tannenberg, and this would also become his burial memorial upon his death in 1934.

I read that with the Russian advance towards East Prussia in 1945, the entire memorial was leveled and destroyed. Nothing but a field remains there today.
