I love the album, especialy the cartoon-style drawings on each page!!! I think the caption above the arch where the men are standing indicates that it is a particular company of a watch regiment.
Gemeindewachtmeister (local policeman) Pother (his family name) in Wolkenstein (a town in Saxonia near Chemnitz, today about 4200 inhabitants) Erzg.(Erzgebirge).
I learned that Schloss Wolkenstein war a prison from the 19th century till 1951. If the pic # 19was taken during WW2 in front of the castle main entrance than it was made in front of the prison.
Lots of interesting Photos & the artistic talents of the Original Owner really add a lot of character.
Photo # 20: Looks like a 'stress training' wearing Fur garments (on a primitive tracked Treadwheel tester?) - and the fellow on the right is on an upright Bicycle Ergometer, which assesses heart rate with exercise (cycling in place.) The Nurse, in presence, gives credence to some type of Medical assessment.
I love Albums - because EACH time that you look through them - you see & find a little more, something that you initially overlooked! Nice! Txs, Dave/dblmed
