    EK1 doc signed by Hausser

    Hello,
i saw this document within a nice konvolut which is on sale, but i ve serious doubts about it.
Could this doc be ok?. I thought Hausser promoted to Obergruppenführer in october 41, which prob mean that the date on the doc wouldn t make any sense. Also i am not sure about the signature at all.
    thx for your opinions.

I'm not at home at the moment but the doc is also dated long before the Flak abteilung got the number 2
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

The other thing about it is to my knowledge DR hadnt even moved out of its assembly area's at the time this document is dated.

This is the EKI document from the grouping belonging to DKiG holder SS-Hstuf. Eugen Maisenbacher which was recently auctioned in Germany. The date of the award is in accordance with the available information concerning his awards. The key features of this document all correspond with that of two examples known to me. The first is an EKII doc for 5./ Rgt. Deutschland dated 26.08.1941 which is part of a grouping in my collection and the second is an EK II doc for 2./ Flak Abteilung 2 dated 24.12.1941 for which I have a photocopy. Of particular significance is that the Dienstsiegel (red), typeface and Hausser's signature on all 3 documents compare well.

It is interesting that the dates shown on the first two documents and Hausser's rank at that time do not tally. I think this is clear indication that even EK award documents were occassionally typed up some while later but retained the date the award was first made. In July and August 1941, Division "Reich" had certainly moved out of its assembly area! - together wit 10. Pz. Div. it was engaged in heavy fighting around Yelnya (central sector). Hence the documents were made up some weeks later after Hausser's promotion to Obergruppenfuehrer on 1. October 1941.

I assume the document is right, anyone knows who bought the E. Maisenbacher group?

The whole group came out from Eugen's son, so I have doubts anything would not be right in this nice group. The buying price was quite insane.
