Grandpapa Alfred

Well I've posted a few photos in this forum that my grandpapa took during his service time (Partisans and helpers, Pzr IV) Well I've scanned some of him to post. Not much information I remember of him, he was in the Infantry/Transportation, served a little in France but mostly in Russia till he was injured during a artillery barrage. I only have these photos and his Schirmmutze. For the life of me I don't remember his unit but there is a photo of him I'll post that shows a shoulder board with insignia (maybe someone can figure it out). Alfred past on in 1978, he was a very quite person about his past but boy did he love to smile and laugh..

There is deffinetly something on that shoulder boards that might be able to help identify his unit, but we might need a closer image of the photo.

Great photos - it's always great to have things from a close relative like that.
