Hi guys
A few photo's from my wifes grandfathers album that was given to me after her grandmother died.
My wifes grandfather was a motorcycle messenger and he is the one on the right next to the guys sleeping on thier bikes. Notice the BMW badge on the side car.

This one is interesting. It has written on the back Vormarsch Polen 1939.
So it is from very, very, early on in the war.

I know the name of that city, got it somewhere in one of my albums. Think it is either Minsk or Kiev and it is of the party building. The photo must have been right after the capture because the photos I have show the linin statue pulled down.

He was in many different parts of Russia including Minsk, where i think this picture was taken.
There are so many interesting pics in this album from all over, i just wished i had the time to upload them. I will try again tomorrow to upload some more.

great pix...i think that is minsk...there is a well known pic of a soldier getting a haircut outside that building!

Could this be the same Hauptmann Hartig that was awarded the DKIG in i think 1944 then was killed in action in 1945?
This photo was taken in Stalingrad, here he is giving EKs. The next photo shows the reverse of this.
