But my guess would be that those pics you described as probably Italy, were made in the Black Sea area. The climate there is also mediterran.. example pic:

Nice shot of a GebH 40 on the first picture. That would date it to autumn\winter of 44\45 i believe.

From what I can tell of the photographs, presuming that they came from one person, looks like they belong to someone from the 5.Gebirgsdivision. Puschkin, or Pushkin, Russia is 25 kilometers from Leningrad, or St. Petersburg which is on the Wolchow front. The GebH 40 photo and the others in Italy would make sense, since this is where the "Gams" Division went in December 1943. They were on the Gustav Line in Castello and the Monte Viso area.
