Well, I was able to find another photo of the SAME man wearing TDB as I posted below some time ago. I will repost the old one too, for comparison.

There is an old military saying, "There are always 10% who don't get the message."

The photos showing TDBs being worn on the left arm are authentic. The most likely explanation is that the photos depict early awards where the soldiers simply got confused or thought they knew what the regulations stated as to wear of these TDBs but they were wrong. It happened.

yeah its definitely possible, and is the only thing that would make sense Tim.

                    heres a new one....
x2 TDBs in wear. I beileve the patch under the TDBs to be a GJ edelweiss arm patch. Looks like they could be training on the cliff.

Writing on back which I have not yet been able to translate

                          A nice mix of uniforms.
The guy and the left should be from Division Hermann Göring (white collar tabs). The 3rd from left wears a minesweeper badge. The 3rd from right a StuG-Uniform and the second from right 2 TDBs.

Hi Guys. For Steevy and Portraithunter : It seems that this group is travelling again !! I bought it from a well-known US-Seller. Here is again our Guy !! You said his first Name would be "Willi / Wilhelm", I can say after having carefully studied all Pics of the Group that his Unit could have been : Pio.Btl.36 or M.G.Btl.5.
Perhaps his Identification will be easier now....

Here an interesting one.... I have studied this Pic with Magnifier, and it seems clear to me he is wearing a complete embroidered Model of Pz.Vern. I got this one direct from the Vet a couple of Years ago. I prefer keep his Name for myself.

Yes, embroidered TDB for sure !

I know this man also, and have the same photo. And yes it is a embroidered TDB. Is he still alive 708.V.G.D. ? Tom
