Excellent ew photo's (to me at least), thanks for sharing.

Thanks, here's last one for today.
From left are Karl Mühleck (later KC holder), Günther Schöntaube (Kompanie Chef 2./Panzer Regiment with 1 tank strip from when with recon units), Herbert Kuhlmann (later KC holder), Friedrich Holzer (later KC holder, shown wearing German Cross), and Josef Zacharias. No ID as yet for the Untersturmführer on the far right, photo taken at Erlangen.
Another view of Ewald Ehm showing the 2 awards seen in the group photo I posted. He won the German Cross in Gold on September 16, 1943, the Close Combat Clasp in Silver on July 30, 1944, and the Close Combat Clasp in Gold on May 7, 1945.
Here is a better view of Adolf Peichl earlier in the war. His total of 11 single handed kills is the highest of "Das Reich." He also won the Knight's Cross, German Cross in Gold, Close Combat Clasp in Gold, and Wound Badge in Gold. An incredible awards list. On November 15, 1943, he had 3 kills in 1 day.
Commissioned an Untersturmführer on November 9, 1944, I never found a photo of him as an officer and even the family had none at that rank for his biography in volume 2 of my German Cross holders series.
Alois Kalss, a name spelled incorrectly in many postwar books. He had 1 kill as seen, as well as being awarded the Knight's Cross and German Cross in Gold. Couldn't find the other photos of him today that I used in my biography of him in SS/Police German Cross holders volume 1.
Awards ceremony in Russia show from left Helmut Schreiber, Alois Weber (16./Deutschland, 1 kill strip) and Gerd von Reitzenstein. Schreiber (commander III./Deutschland) won the Knight's Cross, German Cross in Gold, and Close Combat Clasp in Gold. Weber got the Knight's Cross and German Cross in Gold. Von Reitzenstein won the German Cross in Gold and was the brother of Knight's Cross holder Albin von Reitzenstein who commanded the Panzer Regiment of "Das Reich" until his death on November 30, 1943. All 3 men in the photo survived the war but have since passed away. Weber died on January 19, 2003. All 3 men have full biographies in volume 2 of my German Cross holder series.
