Thought you wanted to see this. Maybe someone know where he could have served? I don't think many Waffen-SS divisions wore this.

The back is dated 8.11.1943 (out of my head) and some other text. Think it is LSSAH.

LSSAH were there (Italy) at that time, and I have seen photos of them in Tropen uniforms, so it is probable. The scan you posted is a little pixelated, maybe the LAH cyphers are visible in the original?

I think it was "Wiking", 24 W-G-(Karstjager), "Skanderberg", 16.SS-Panzergrenadier-Division "Reichsfuehrer SS", and may be "Hadschar" and "Kama"

There are also photos of Wiking, Karstjaeger, SD (in Tunis), Skanderbeg and SS-Pol-Div wearing SS tropical uniform......................even HJ Volkssturm!

Hello,

I've seen pictures of Karstjagers with sahariana's and tropical light shirts and very light Bergmuetzes but never with tropical M43 caps with insignas or with tropical\SS-saharians tunics.

I've seen few images of guys from the SS-Pol.-Rgt.15 and SS-Pol.-Rgt.18 in Greece with tropical M43 caps with SS insignas and tropical\SS-saharians tunics but with Police eagles on the sleeve.
The last one was on a nice album of that unit sold on ebay few days ago.
