Thanks, Angel. Regarding the documents I share your opinion. Still want to find out where Olboeter was during "the missing period".

I have the books you mention but looked at additional information. Also people should use the web more as it is amazing what you can find!
I would attend to agree with Angel...I don't like the look of the signature and stamp...to me it looks faded where the rest of the document does not! Whether or not he served with SS Aufkl.Abt. 9 is debatable but most sources tend to agree the designation of the unit was different at that time and that he was not there at the time.....
Regarding award dates, I have found that Luftwaffe tend to be exast with published orders and award citations, however Heer and SS can be a 7-14 days out!
Personally if I was offered this piece I would have to turn it down....better to be safe than sorry!

If you are in a hospital your unit would be the same as the one assigned when sustained the wound or the hospital in which you are recovering, not your next unit, or an Ersatz und Ausbildung unit were you are temporaly attached for recovering and training. It looks very strange that you received a new post when in hospital as no time of recovering is known and the most probably is that you were destined to one of the two type of units mentioned above. Also look at the dates of formation of the citation unit and the names at the different dates and all of this makes a bad situation for this paper.
Cheers
AngelLooking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.
