This may be a little out of context but this is the guy in the photo above's Mercedes Benz staff car.

correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure the "HV" above the Nachschubtruppen symbol stands for Heeresverwaltung.

So the officer above may have been a supplies administrative official?

A new arrival showing the change over 5 years.

1939

Appears as a NCO in the Heer. He is wearing the old, outmoded pattern pointed shoulder straps which were unpiped.

Now we go to 1943.

he is wearing Beamte 1940 regulation Medium/Elevated collar tabs......could be an Officer aspirant, however his forage cap has the black leather strap....with the correct 1940 regulation Beamte NCO shoulder boards....

Moving on to 1944 we find him with the same collar tabs, however......he is wearing......regular Heer NCO boards.....with HV devices

Not a Sonderführer, but a member of the Sonderdienst in the Generalgouvernement... Brilliant! Photos of this group are extremely rarely seen. Thanks for sharing!
