    A Bit Different-A Camera

This was found with many other German items on my family's property in Eastern Europe, and although looks very rough the body is quite intact and totally solid. A local photography expert will look at this shortly to see if any film would be salvageable. No one can say for certain that it is German, but was dumped in the same hole as other Wehrmacht items in the Spring of 45. I know Leica was a German camera used, but does anyone know whether Kodak was around then in those parts? Thanks all!

Yes! Kodak cameras were available in Germany before and even during the war. Erich Kuby in his Book, Mein Krieg, mnetions have a cheap American kodak camera with him.

This is an old thread, but I have to say this:

Kodak had factories in Germany! The best Kodak cameras were made in Stuttgart! Most popular were the series of Retina cameras. And it should not be forgotten that Kodak introduced the modern 135-cassette with the Retina in 1934. Kodak also made film and photo paper in Germany.

There were many camera makers in Germany besides Leitz. Agfa, Zeiss Ikon, Welta, Voigtländer, Balda, Certo, Franke & Heidecke (Rollei), Beier, Zeh, Robot, und so weiter...
