Where exactly are you finding your photos on the web and which book did you get your photo from?

Members on this forum most often post photos from their own collections and if they use material from elsewhere they give proper credit to that source.

Trawling the web to find photos to fill threads is a pet peeve with me and many others.

We would all like to see what you have in your collection.

I already explain that I haven't any personal collection. I have these photos for 2 years maybe and If you don't want to see it - OK, that's no problem, I will not post them. I wanted to share my photos with you, I don't have enough money to buy photos, that's why I download it from the web. Maybe there is someone of you who likes it.

Some nice photo's, but as said before this forum is mainly for photo's in private collections, not ripped off from a site on the internet. Probably you have good intentions, but this is not the place to share them...

I also believe that you CAN'T post photo's here that are published in a book. That just violates with the copyright, what ofcourse is illegal. So just keep it here to the pics in your collection.

I don't think it is illegal unless he is trying to sell them or receive financial benefit from them. Even if the pictures are in fact protected by copyright, there are exceptions in which such pictures can be used.

Totally agree with top paragraph!

I think it's OK to use photos and text from books if one is doing proper research.

If someone does use information and photos from books then the full title of the book and the author's name should be provided.

My concern is that if this is allowed to continue then WAF will end up like another forum I belong to where a lot of the members don't have collections and use photos from other sources such as private collections, Ebay etc.
It is getting to the stage where they are now posting photos from online auctions which are still in progress.

Maybe a moderator could have the last say on what can be posted here.
