The last large thin paper Death Card which can be folded and mailed out (this one had been mailed to an Artzt - Doctor) is on a member of German Royal Family.Attached Files

Marcos,
You are absolutely correct the date is 1949...post-war Death Card that I mistakenly added. I thought I made a Great deal as well considering I was picking up Death Cards at 50 pfennings to a mark each when I first started collecting them. Thanks! - Bill

The SS, HG, and Grossdeutschland all had a Leibstandarte (Honor Guard) established in Berlin He was probably a member at one time. Remember the families had these printed up through private printing sources so information that they believe correct may be outdated when the family provides it to the printers. That is why sometimes you see photos of the Soldier in civilian clothes or in RAD or party uniform...they might not have anything else to provide.
many thanks for your reply!
Just to clarify my intention: I certainly did not want to "protest" the placement of the Leibstandarte as his active unit at the time of his death on the death card, but I simply had no idea about the existence of a Leibstandarte for HG (and GD), so I really wondered what kind of unit that might be.
Thanks to your info I've now learned another interesting detail on HG.
