I presente you a photograph of Asiatic volunteers hired in the wehrmacht.
Photograph made in France.
No information on the unit of the volunteers.

Being enthralled by the volunteers in the wehrmacht I am happy to have this photograph.

its mad i remember reading in a book on Normandy about a Asian "volunteer" and i us the " " as his story turned out to be pretty mad the only thing is i cant for the life of me remember what book i read it in! the story was that was actually from Korea and was captured by the Japanese and then was put into the army by the Japanese but was captured by the Russian who then put them in there army and he was then captured by the Germans who put him in to one of there "volunteer" units until he was finally captured by the Americans in 44! i think he got back home in 47! its REALLY annoying me that i cant remember where i read this as it sticks in my mind so much!!! but great oic and id say pretty rare!!

I believe there are many Asianic volunteers. I have seen other pictures as well.

Affirmative they were several thousands but it is always a "curiosity" to find it in photograph.

Correct!, I'd love such a photo. I was saying that in response to paddywhack, but I think he was just mentioning a story of Asiatic volunteers. At first I took it to mean he thought that Asiatic volunteer might be the man in the photo you have.

no in the article i read it in the pic was just after he had been captured (again)!

"volunteers" i think in this case is used loosely... I would say more along the lines of the conscripted eastern soldiers..

The book was probably D-Day by Stepen Ambrose. Just read the book and the story was in there.

Oh, there has been a couple of famous ones as well. Chiang Kai-shek's son serve in the German Army and he was even in the Condor Leigon. There was a Japanese Colonel who was captured by the British Army in Arhnem. Oh the story on the Korean soldier was, he used to fight along side the Japanese Army but he was caputred during the Soviet - Japanese border clashes. Then he sevre under the Russians until the Germans had attack Russia. Then he was captured and he vounlteer for the German Army.
