I picked these up yesterday and found the grouping interesting. The Panzer Assault Badge document apparently was not signed but given out!

the second "black wound badge document" for a wound on 30 Oct. 43)!

the silver wound badge document for a third wound on 14 July 44. This was an unusual group due to the missing signature on the Pz Assault Badge document and two black wound badge documents with different dates.

nice grouping, very naughty to issue the PAB without getting the bosse's signature. It's not that unusual to see two WB awards like this, one from the unit and the other from a hospital. The date of award for the first i think hints at why this happened. just 4 days before his next wound it could well be that he hadn't actually got his first one yet, or entered into his SB before being wounded a second time and disappearing into the medical system ie. away from his parent unit that would have been responsible for his personal documentation

Simon, thanks for the commentary. Yes, the unit caught up with it apparently as the comment is correct for "third" wounding with the silver award. Unfortunately now Soldbuch or Wehrpass came with this but better so than nothing!
