The date you see will be when the award was granted in orders for the unit he was with at the time, not the date of issue of this document, nor is the awarding unit seen here likely to have been the one he was with when he qualified.

the unit is backwards, they were AuE units, not EuA units

EuA is correct for Heer units. AuE is correct for Waffen SS units.
