    Mystery panzer at Stalingrad

    Hi all,

Does anybody recognise this tank (not the Panzer II but the one in the background)? This vidcap (apologies for the quality) comes from footage shot on Stalingrad's outskirts in September 1942 and the tank does not look like any German panzer I've ever seen. It doesn't look Russian or French either. Could it possibly be British? Note that there is a Balkenkreuz on the vertical plate. I'm presuming this is the rear of the tank.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

I would start with a British Valentine. From the turret shape and track.
Must have a flag on the rear or something catching the light.

It certainly looks like a Valentine to me as well. Alan
