Hi Guys,
this is a little lot in relation to the same man, an SS man from SS Standarte Deutschland. He was killed in action in Poland. The newspaper death notice placed by the SS Standarte Deutschland states his date of death as 1st September 1939 and the official death certificate states it as 2nd September 1939...I would think the official death certificate to be most likely to be correct, but in any case, this must have been one of the very first SS men to have been killed in action in WW2? Cheers, Torsten.
