I havent found the SB. The SB scans came with the grouping and I would love to find it. I hope it comes out the woodwork. I do know is that it was with Weitze at some point.
So you can ask Weitze about the new owner from this group , maybe the new owner want give up in any time than Mister Weitze can give you the name from that or what you mean ???
a very rare grouping (Nahkampfspange in gold is rarer than the Knights Cross!). It is interesting to see that his discharge document is written with an SS typewriter (with runes).
Yes, very nice and salty group! CCCiGold groups are always thrilling.
I remember vaguely personally seeing the group at Weitze's shop in 2001 and so I took out his ´01 printed sale catalogue this morning in order to see whether the group was acutally listed there as well.
And 'yes' on page 214 (top page) the group is listed, but mentioning the SB as -included copies- only.
He goes on saying that "...the Soldbuch was unfortunately not aquirable".
So apparently the seller did not want to part from the SB, but only from the other paper documents.
Maybe it is still out there in a German collection today?
Nice group and very interesting! As expected, he is listed in Manfred Dörr's book 'Die Träger der Nahkampfspange in Gold' also.
He actually also should have recieved the GC in Gold aswell as "der Führer" ordered it to be awarded without question after winning the CCC in Gold.
I don't see anything showing he did recieve it, looks like he did'nt recieve it at all, but why I don't know
