    Stalingrad photos in WW2 newspapers

Does anybody have old WW2-era German newspapers or magazines that contain articles and/or photo reports about Stalingrad? I've got all issues of "Die Wehrmacht" from 1942, plus all the relevant Signal issues covering Stalingrad, so I am interested in all others, like "Der Adler", "Illustrierte Beobachter", etc. The Germans published loads of different newspapers and magazines during the war, so there must be plenty still around.

I'm very interested in finding out the names of the photographers who took certain photos, so if you own any of these magazines, please post lo-res pics of the photos and the name of the PK-Kriegsberichter. Just know that your efforts are going to a worthwhile cause! I really need this information for a forthcoming book.

If you don't want to post the information publicly, please contact me via PM or directly via email at: info(at)leapinghorseman(dot)com(dot)au

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jason,

Quite ironically, I just went through all my magazines the other day and databased all the KB's in them and their locations. I'm not sure which magazines these came from without having to go through them again, here are the names of KB's I have in the Stalingrad photos in my magazine collection. You probably already have these names.

    Klinzsch (Stalingrad)
    Schüller (Stalingrad)
    Vieth (Stalingrad)
    Herber, Heine (Stalingrad)
    Dieck (Stalingrad) (Dnjepr)
    Pilz, Günther (Stalingrad) (Marseille) (Sewestopol)
    Opitz (Luftwaffe over Stalingrad)

      Hi Todd,

Thanks very much for your reply. I also went through all my magazines and every Stalingrad PK photo I could lay my hands on and compiled a list of minds. Great minds, I suppose.... You had two names on your list (Klinzsch and Vieth) who were new to me. Any chance you could supply some lo-res pics to show which photos they took? That would be tremendously helpful (as if you haven't already helped me enough).

Here's my list of Kriegsberichter who were operating in Stalingrad or its approaches, August-November 1942:
      Bauer-Altvater
      Dieck
      Faupel or Paupel
      Gebauer
      Gehrmann
      Geipel
      Geller
      Heine
      Hellwig
      Herber
      Jesse
      Kaufmann
      Klose (Luftwaffe)
      Niermann (Luftwaffe)
      Ollig (Luftwaffe)
      Opitz (Luftwaffe)
      Paupel or Faupel
      Pilz (probably Luftwaffe)
      Ruck
      Sautter
      Scheffler
      Schmidt-Geyer
      Schöller
      Schröter-Altvater
      Schroedter
      Schüller (Luftwaffe?)
      Seiboldt
      Wundshammer (Luftwaffe)

To that needs to be added Todd's two:
      Klinzsch
      Vieth

Any and all contributions will be appreciated.

      All the best,
      Jason

        Jason,

I'll search through them and scan the pics for you. Here are the ones in the Münchner Illustrierte Presse dated 12 Nov 42 taken by Herber Heine.
