    Hi Larry,

    I do know that Herr Benkendorff served as an instructor with Sturzkampffliegerschule Insterburg in 1940/41. Like so instructors at that time they were sent to front line units.

    The Benkendorff with JG 3 was a Leutnant in 1942, Helmut Benkendorff was an Oberfeldwebel.
