3882a/ Wasserschutzpolizei in action on the Finnish Gulf. They successfully rescued an aircrew in distress.
The Polizei units are versatile in many ways during the occupation, but they also in action in other ways in the battle sectors on the various fronts. For example, on the Finnish Gulf, the Wasserschutzpolizei performs strenuous service and is employed as surveillance and security over the waters. A message is received at the station that a German pilot is in distress. The Wasserschutzpolizei is camouflaged against enemy sight and goes forth to sea. Even so, the aircraft of the distress service remains on standby.
