What kind of twin-engine Soviet bomber is this?
It looks suspiciously like a swastika emblem on the tail.

This picture shows him with a camera around his own neck... so he might have loaned his own camera to fellow SS-KB men to take snapshots to send back home. (of course this picture couldn't have been taken with that camera!)

If you read my caption you will realize that the two photos of Obersturmführer Zschäckel were taken by SS-Kriegsberichter Hermann Groenert who was with the 3rd SS "Totenkopf" Division. Both photographers were seeking protection in the anti tank ditch and Groenert simply snapped a few photos of him with his camera. They were not taken with Zschäckel's camera.

I'm not sure the type of bomber this is...here is a close-up of the tail. It looks to me as if it is just burnt out.
