Thanks Sturmkreuz! I have a few thousand more pics to post. Here are a couple more.
1971/ Marine soldiers are in position on the Fischer Peninsula.
The Seamen say in a keel line but here the order means “in file at 5 pace intervals.” Caution is the requisite when the day appears quiet. A well-camouflaged bunker is on the left in the foreground which one can hardly detect when they are not paying attention.

3/ Always combat ready!
These mortars have moved into their positions in the farthest front trenches of the Eastern Front in the swamp and quagmire through the beginning of the thaw. They have caused heavy casualties with their steady fire during the assault of the Bolsheviks.

123684/ 1,3000,000 calls in 320 days.
This is the spider web of wire of the divisional exchange. They all come together here from every direction. Small placards show the origin from the many directions so that when an interruption occurs, the direction of the interruption can at once be ascertained.

This German aircraft, the JU-87 Stuka, penetrates 4 cm Flak to hit the Soviet radio positions. It is a wonder how he remains undamaged through it all. He departs the explosions from the shelter of the cockpit. The aircraft is clear to once again engage the enemy another day.
