    The Japanese advance achieved a victorious breakthrough in the past few days on the fortification in Shanghai. There is sporadic but tough fighting in the suburbs of the city. Our picture shows advancing Japanese Infantry aoccupying a suburb in Shanghai.

      The Japanese Marine Units have now established the defense of the international establishment in Shanghai. No doubt the flagship “Jzumo” can handle it.

        General Ludendorff is severely ill.
        The senior leader of the German army in the World War, General Erich Ludendorff, is severely ill and has been admitted to a Munich clinic, where he has undergone a gall bladder operation. The 72-year old General is bedridden. Our photo shows General Erich Ludendorff (left) with Generalfeldmarschall von Blomberg.

          The Chief of the Polish Air Force, General Lubomir Rayski, reviewed an honor company of the Luftwaffe during his visit to the Reich capital along with General von Witzendorff in front of the Unter der Linden memorial.

              The Führer is at the comradeship evening with the Reichsautobahn workers in the “Theater of the People”.
              At the invitation of the Führer, a large meeting of 2000 Reichsautobahn workers was held yesterday in in the “Theater of the People” in the Reich’s capital. The Führer is in a conversation with a Reichsautobahn worker during a pause in the foyer of the theater.

                C3204/ The president of the Brazilian Condor Syndicate is received in the house of the pilots of the German Lufthansa.
                This afternoon, the Brazilian Condor Syndicate, Conde Ernesto Carneiro, stayed for a time in the house of the pilots of the German Lufthansa in Berlin. Our picture shows, from left to right, Ministerial Director Fisch of the Reichsluftfahrtministerium, the Brazilian ambassador Dr. J.J. de Lima e Silva Moniz de Aragao, the President of the Condor Syndicate and the Director of the German Lufthansa Freiherr von Goblenz.

                        Schoolgirls from the Hagoromo Girl University in Osaka have now founded a glider plane society. Glider piloting has once again become popular in Japan. Here the schoolgirls practice in their glider.

                          Adolf Hitler’s coup in Austria.
                          The Nazi’s became so enthusiastic the government sent troops to Graz to forestall a possible march on Vienna. The people of Graz are demonstrating Thursday for a sudden call for a plebiscite on Sunday on the issue of Austrian independence. This provoked widespread disorders in Graz and Vienna.

                              2710a/ The German Wehrmacht moves into Vienna.
                              An Armored Vehicle Division from Linz arrived in Vienna in the morning hours of Sunday (13 March) followed in the evening hours by the large part of the German Wehrmacht to serve as a garrison in Vienna. The drafted German soldiers were received with an indescribable jubilation and one can see fraternization between the German and Austrian soldiers everywhere. This photo shows a moment of the advance of the German Wehrmacht into Vienna on Saturday evening. (Sd Kfz 221)
