Note 3779: "Very interesting flag on the podium. Who is the political leader??"

The speaker at the podium is Baron Constantin von Neurath, German Foreign Minister from 1932 to 1939 and Reichsprotector of Bohemia and Moravia from 1939 to 1943. The Political Leader standing at his right is unknown to me.

    Another great photo!

An interesting photo of Dr. Goebbels in note #3780 -- the photo appears to have been taken at a polling place where the Reichsminister is voting. Of further interest is the framed portrait caricature of Goebbels hanging on the wall in the background -- could this polling place have been inside the Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda...??!!

Thanks Br. James for the ID on von Neurath.

I wish the caption was still on the back of the Dr. Goebbels image. Unfortunately, it is missing.

My pleasure, Todd! Your postings are always interesting, and the fact that they are all taken by various war correspondents/reporters who obviously saw something of note or interest happening in each scene -- or the reporter wouldn't have wasted time and film on recording that scene -- makes them even more compelling. Many thanks, as always!

Re: #3778 portrait photo of Dr. Otto Dietrich. As you noted, this photo has been updated by hand to acknowledge Dietrich's promotion from SS-Gruppenführer (January 27, 1934, w/o pip on tab) to SS-Obergruppenführer (April 20, 1941, w/one pip)...and it also enabled the continued use of a portrait of the much younger man! Both photos were well-used during the period. His were honorary ranks, of course, and Dietrich remained on the staff of the RFSS throughout the TR.

The guy on the left appears to be Josias Erbprinz zu Waldeck und Pyrmont, who was the leader of SS District Fulda-Werra. He kept a youthful appearance well into his forties.
