Thanks for the reply Seekwhence, Im quite sure you will never ever have seen the Photo befor as it is a privat snapshot from a friend Glider pilot who was in Görlitz when they had a visit from Rudel . You can find another interesting shot of another very skilled LW ace from the same Photo estate :

And here is a closeup from his nice little cross around the neck => I like the picture very much as it shows a little that these persons ( rhe Rudel family ) certainly belonged towards the upper class of WW II Germany, note the coat that his wife is wearing !!! ( certainly nothing a poor working class wife would wear during that period !!! )

Deputy Gauleiter in 2nd photo

Anyone know the Gau in which these photos were taken (I'm guessing either Ober- or Niederschlesien)? Reason I ask, the man at far right in second photo is a Stellvertreter-Gauleiter (Deputy Regional Leader of the NSDAP) and I'm working on a book of senior NSDAP officials (perhaps I could secure Mr. Stijn's permission to use this image [cropped just to show the Stellv.GL would be fine] in the book?).
