    Recent Photos - 56k Heavy

    Here are some photos from a militaria fair in Wexford today, along with a couple from a recent Poland campaign photo album.

    If anyone can help identify units/uniforms/locations I would appreciate it.

    Uniform - (if anyone can identify this uniform please let me know)

    This looks to be a muslim Balkan volunteer unit (mentions 'Balken' on the back of the pic.

    "Herzlichen Gruss an Beck" - warm greetings for Mr.Beck (Polish Foreign Minister)

      Hi Ian - cheers, it was this one here ;

      http://livinghistory.ie/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=252

      It wasnt that big really - I would guess at most 10 or so dealers with the usual mix of weapons, medals, repro stuff and some various photos scattered in boxes here and there. Some nice prices on docs, papers, letters and loose pictures/postcards spread between 2 of the dealers there. If I hear of another one I will give you a shout.

        ah ok, its not so bad that i missed it, im very sick at the moment, even had to take a few days off work, so would not have been able for this im afraid. Was it the same gang of guys from the North Star Hotle Fairs? I really have missed going to the fairs for a while now. I even had my own table a few times. happy days.

          I am not sure of a connection to the north star event - I can tell you its not the 'teachers club' event people

          I was later told one guy there was Mark Hayden - who wrote the book 'German Ribbon Bars' and if its the guy I am thinking of he was very sound to deal with picked up a wehrpass, soldbuch and a few other bits & pieces from him.

          There was an australian dealer and a french couple specialising in musket pistols too - I think I remember somone mentioning that a french and australian dealer attended the last north star event ?

            Ah yeah cool. Mark is a really decent chap.
            Isnt he the priets for that area?
            And i know the lovely french couple your talking about. They are always at the North Star and they have a fantastic array of musket items and swords. I remember that last time i was there, it was the french gentlemans birthday and they handed out french cheese, patay and red wine to every one, was great fun. :-)
