    I just dug this one out.

                      There's a lot of OKH material from '45 in the archives. At a quick guess it was originally amongst one of these folders. That it isn't there any longer is doubtless down to the signature.

                        It sure looks like this 2-page Führer appreciation and position statement regarding Heeresgruppe Kurland's situation may have been filched from BA-MA Freiburg. Another possibility is that it was "misappropriated" while these papers were in the U.S. being microfilmed during the 1950's and 1960's. This is the OKH file copy after it was transmitted to Kurland (Courland) by Fernschreiber (teletype). This is a very important Geheime Kommandosache - Chef Sachen - Nur durch Offiziere document, and goes to the heart of Hitler's reasoning and alibis for not evacuating the pocket as all of his generals and advisors wanted him to do going back to December 1944. He mistakenly believed the pocket served its purpose by tying down large numbers of Soviet troops. In reality, the Russians had troops to spare and the German troops in Kurland could have been far better used in Prussia and Pomerania.

                              This was picked up locally from a vetrans son about 12 years ago. Reportedly, as told by him and this is all he knew, it was picked up by his father in Berlin. Found in a messenger bag of a dead soldier.
                              That is the story I got.

                              I never had it fully translated.
