    Rudolf Hess photo

Just bought this original rudolf hess photo. Anyone know who is he with or what event this might be?

I thought it was a cool photo since he's with a plane and he's famous for this solo flight and everything.
Someone helped me and reduced the picture size, see below for picture.

Sorry, can't help with the other guys, but I've never seen a Political Tunic with what looks like an SS arm eagle??
I have seen numerous photos of Hess but never wearing such a tunic, nor anyone else for that matter.

I'm afraid you have totally ruined your chances of help with this photo by posting the image far too big for the page. I have reduced it to a reasonable size and you can see that it is much clearer. It's not necessary to post images larger than a maximum of 700 pixels on either side. The width on this one is 600 pixels.

thanks for reducing the picture, I was careless and uploaded it without checking the results. sorry about that.

as for the Tunic Hess is wearing....

Someone helped me out and said He's wearing a party tunic without collar insignia and an army eagle on the sleeve.

can anyone tell me exactly what kind of plan this is or who he's with?

        thanks.

          Rick,
He's shaking hands with a SS officer and the man getting into the JU88 also appears to be SS (slight chance it could be Himmler I suppose). The other guy on the right is a Party official.

            thank you.

I didn't think of a JU 88 but that does make sense now.

              It is a JU 52.

Mike, you are quite right, it is a JU52 and that is what I meant to type. Not being interested in aircraft, I get confused over the names and numbers!! The JU52 is the aircraft commonly used by senior officials and many of them had actual names, such as the one used by the SA-Stabschef. I think it was known as "Horst Wessel."

I've never seen a photo of Hess in a PL tunic with collar patches. Usually he wore a simple Brown shirt, or a Plain tunic with Arm band. Maybe this was due to his unique position as deputy Fuhrer.
A couple of photos attached from an excellent phot bio of Hess called 'Reichsminister Rudolf Hess. Zeitgeschichte in Bildern'...worth getting.
Also, if you ever visit London go to The Imperial War Museum where part of Hess's Me BF110 is on show (the one he flew to Scotland).
