    Reisepass Question...

    Hi,

I have a sizable collection of German passports , about 45 of them, from 1920-1945. I was just looking through it and realized that none of them has a single entry for children. I do have few with entries for spouses (wives really), but not a single one with entries for children. Do they exist?

I would greatly appreciate if anyone does have a passport with the such entry if you could post a scan or few for me (I would like to keep it for reference) - the pages I am interested in are # 1 and 3.

    Thanks for the help...

    Hi Mark,
You raise an interesting point. I too have several Third Reich era passports of all three types including one from the Free City of Danzig and not one of them has any children listed. I don't recall seeing any on eBay with children listed either. Does seem a bit odd.

      Thanks Bruce for your reply,

I do find it unusual, especially since I have passport of a wealthy Bavarian couple, which I know did have children. The passport is issued for the man and his wife, but not for the kids. Interestingly, I also have a photo album of theirs and they did travel with the children to Switzerland, Czechoslovakia and Italy...
I am only curious how did the children legally crossed the borders. Perhaps they had their own passports? Surely not at the age of 6-10...

Well, if anyone does have the above discussed entries I would love to see those.

      Thanks again,

      Mark

PS: Perhaps some of our German members can let us know what the age for applying for travel passports is (or was) in Germany...
