    SS Lot

I tried to sell a little lot on the estand. Now i found the same picture in a soldbuch, which is for sale on a dealers site. The names are different. So there are two possibilitys: 1. My documents are tempered with, or the picture in the soldbook is wrong.
Is there a possibility to check the name of the nr. in the SS-Ausweis

    Best Regards K.

I dont know if I can show the picture of the soldbook on the dealers site, so if anybody want to compare, please check the dealerssite.

I cannot find the Soldbuch in question on the above mentioned dealer site.

This SS-Ausweis and the accompanying documents are 100% original, so I would really like to see the Soldbuch that has this man's picture, but a different name

EDIT: I have found the Soldbuch but I cannot link directly to it.

It is item #E-409b, and is part of a 950 EURO Soldbuch and document grouping.

Item description states "Cover contemporary replaced by a surrogate cover. Entry page 1 confirms that a replacement Soldbuch was issued to him on 19-10-1944. Soldbuch is repaired, not with postwar sticky-tape, but is a wartime repair with transparent paper."

It's a shame that the photos on the site are so small and of such poor quality. I would really like to get a better look at those stamps over the photo, as well as compare the signature under the photo to that on page 2... However, from what I can see, the stamps on the photo in the Soldbuch look bad, and seeing as how this very same photo has surfaced on an original SS-Ausweis that is part of a grouping which contains extra photos, I think it is safe to say that the photo/cover are not original to the Soldbuch - the photo is not the individual the Soldbuch originally belonged to.

Someone should direct the owner of the site to this thread.

It doesn't look like the circular portions of the stamp on the left side of the photo are completely aligned (like they would be IF the stamp had been done over the picture and the cover). It's close. But, not perfect.

To me, it's not about whether or not they are aligned, but if they are in fact original stamps, and done pre-May 1945... IMHO they are not.

Seeing as how the photo has now surfaced on an original SS-Ausweis to an individual with a different name, it can't be the same person the Soldbuch was issued to. I am going to guess that since the cover on the Soldbuch was replaced, the signature under the photo does not match the one on page 02, meaning that it was forged, with ill intentions. I would still like to see clear, crisp scans of the photo, signature and stamps on the cover, as well as the signature on page 02.

Here are the photos from the dealer's site -- enlarged and enhanced.

The item also contains this interesting notation:

                1.) Soldbuch, 28-3-1942.
                With SS uniform passphoto.
Cover contemporary replaced by a surrogate cover.
Entry page 1 confirms that a replacement Soldbuch was issued to him on 19-10-1944.
Soldbuch is repaired, not with postwar sticky-tape, but is a wartime repair with transparent paper.

Maybe he just left out the part about the picture & stamps being "contemporary" replaced as well

                    Soldbuch

Someone contacted me about the discussion.

Seeing the grouping which contains a nice SS Ausweis with the same picture it is also clear to me that the picture in the Soldbuch has been added later.

The alarm bells did not ring for this particular pass as it was part of a large lot of several hundred similar files which I purchased years ago which all came from a good unsuspicious source.

                    Grouping will be removed.
