Although SS isn't my thing (too poor) the document does make a good first impression.

I'm sure somebody more familiar with unit abbreviations and signatures can give you a better answer.

    Hank

EDIT on 15 June: Ah well wrong again...more or less. The stamp did look like a turd, but I thought it might still have a chance.

Just another reason I don't collect SS - not enough knowledge! (in addition to being too poor!)

    best

Nope, don't like it one bit. to start with there's a company level stamp used. Far too low a level for a standartenführer and far to low a level to be able to award an EK. Suspicious too is the use of an early war style doc this late in the war. they were still around but a rarely encountered.

To me even the stamp seems to be a fake one, no original stamper used here for this document !
Don't want to explain too much for the fakers.
For the rest I am with Simon.

            Hello Rene,

The presented document is a fake. 100 % fake. I shall bring the proof tomorrow because my work does not allow me to answer you now. To tomorrow.

            Cordial greetings.

              Hello,

As promised, here are the proofs :

I have the chance to possess the Henk's Ophoff Soldbuch in my collection, to see image of the page 1 enclosed.

I think that in spite of the presence of the term "van" (add probably to make more Dutch), it is about the same man.

How the counterfeiter had knowledge of the name of this soldier : I ignore it. Are there books relative to the Dutch volunteers that indicates lists of name ?

              Cordial greetings.

                Hello,

To end, here is an image of the page 26 presenting the decorations obtained by Henk Ophoff while he was incorporated within the SS Aufkl. Abt.
                54.

You will notice that the date of obtaining the EK 2 is not the same that indicated on the diploma presented by Rene. Furthermore according to his Soldbuch, Henk Ophoff was never incorporated into the advisable unit on the diploma.

Considering that precedes, I think that the diploma presented by Rene is a copy.

                Cordial greetings.

                  Hi Polux,

That is a very nice Soldbuch you have in your collection !
                  Thanks for showing it here.

That the award document is a fake was mentioned here on waf before, but to see an extra proof for it is most welcome.

There are a couple of books written in Dutch, and some of them are showing award lists with name, rank, unit, award and date.
