My guess is the rifle is actually a .22 and not an air gun.

Most air guns I have seen... never came with a sling? At least... mine never had one.. nor my friends..

Yes, it looks to be a .22 trainer, seems to be a bolt in evidence ..has what appears to be a KS-98 dress bayo tucked into his pants, and a wire covered helmet?

Kid also looks to be wearing Chino's, so that would be in the mid 50's-early 60's time frame..
