This week I bought a 4 award citation group, for a reasonable price, which contained an interesting signature but the dealer was unable to identify exactly who it belonged to, offering GenLt Kurt Frhr.V. Lutzow as a possibility, not a bad signature to obtain in any event.
But I had my doubts so having asked on another forum the signature has been revealed as belonging to none other then General Major Walter von Seydlitz-Kurzbach - who was responsible for the breakout at Demyansk and went on to command LI Korps at Stalingrad before joining the National Committee Free Germany in Soviet captivity.
