I'd like to share these two nice private photos of a Luftwaffe rescue at sea. They are taken in the Balaton lake in Hungary, the largest lake of Middle and Western Europe. In the first pic, we see the pilots of the sea plane getting the wounded man out of the water. His name, according to the descriptions on the back, was Büchner. We also see a body, presumably dead, already on the wing of the plane, Büchner is looking at him.
In the second photo, we see the rescued Leutnant together with a Hauptmann Hülsmann and a local mayor on the wing of the rescue plane. His both hands are bandaged, and his head wound (which can be seen on the first pic) is bandaged as well. Büchner made it to Leutnant, but there is a cross next to his name, indicating he was KIA later.
Thought these were pretty interesting and would appreciate any comments. Any ideas on the id of the rescue plane?
