Here is a nice EK2 doc to a member of Kampfgeschwader 54 dated March 9, 1944. KG 54 was equipped with the Ju88.
Based on the info in the Luftwaffe section of the Feldgrau.com website, II Gruppe (6. KG 54) was located in the Marx-Laon/Athies area in Northeastern France (not far from the Belgian border) during the early part of 1944. At this stage of the war, before the Normandy invasion, what type of action was this unit invlolved? Bombing runs in the English Channel perhaps?
It appears that they were stationed in the area since Decmeber (perhaps to refit in anticipation of the Allied invasion). Maybe it is possible that this doc was actually the result of actions from 1943 on the Eastern Front.
