    Hello,

I was wondering if this kind of book which such stamp is rare or not.

I don't know who signed it.

            The German text I read:

            Offiziersmesse Schlachtschiff "Scharnhorst" zum 17. 5. 1943
            Gießler
Kapitän zur See und I. O. (erster Offizier)

Helmuth Gießler was I.O. on the Scharnhorst in the period March 1942 - April 1943 (so Lexikon der Wehrmacht)

              Thank you Gerdan.

              So he survived it.

Yes, his last post was as Captain of the Nürnberg which he held from late '44 until the end of the war.
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.
