                Interesting!
What kind of feather is that one?
I'm just researching about the WWI K.u.K. "Spielhahnstoss" of the Landes-Kaiserschuetzen: those units used the Tetrao Tetrix feather, even called "Federschmuk".

                Cheers

                      97th Jager Div

                      Hi,

A close friend's father was a member of this unit 97. JÄGER-DIVISION and he was a MG'er awarded the EKII, IAB, BWB. Served in Russia and eventually an American POW. After a very long discussion (over a "few" beer") one night in the 1980's...he talked about his experiences...and I started getting into this unit. I'd love to purchase a pin of the 97th and the photo collection....so I could show my friend's Dad. WOW...cool pin.

                        Hi,

I met a veteran of the 97th today.
He is alive and kicking, entered the unit at the age of 17 in 1943.
He was among those who couldn´t make it into the American sector
and spent 5 years in Russia as a POW.
He is very willing to talk about his exoeriences and I will have to meet
                        him again.

                        Cheers,
                        taube

                          Grüss Gott,

My Uncle was also a member of the 97th Jäger Division, 207 Regiment. I believe the surviving members still meet in Bavaria for an annual reunion. Last I heard the reunion was in Altötting. Its nice to see some interest in this unit.
