Hi,

In an earlier thread I saw that a forum member put up a death card group that included the portrait used for the death card. I thought that I'd do the same thing.

Here's a map that came with Ernst's photo. It shows the 1st Gebirgs Division campaign through France.

Hi Tony,

That's so true. According to Volsbund, Ernst was a Hauptmann and not a Oberleutnant as his death card states. He was born August 14, 1920 and was from Sonthofen. He was killed at Kocsord, 28 km north of Nagy,Karoly. Not sure if I'm reading that correctly or not.
