The first two photos already say enough. Just my opinion.
It is not showing bodies. This is the reality of war and the items that we collect. Let us not forget that people die in these conflicts and every now and again i think people need to see these photos to remind us of that. This is not some sick display of bodies, its simply showing different periods in a battle. NO different than seeing pics of german soldiers running with artillery shells exploding aroudn them or russians chargeing in behind a tank. It shows a well executed ambush. Shame that men have to die, but war is hell. That is simply the reality of it, we do and see things when we are abroad. If you are a soldier you have a duty to fight and destroy the forces that oppose you, you may not have to like it but that is your job. A soldier exists to execute what the civilians/government ask them to do. We, as soldiers, carry that burden upon us, its nothing personal if you have to kill an enemy soldier, its our job. I have never had to shoot a person, but sure that i would feel a bit of sympathy for him/her as they have people that they care about to. Its an unfortuante business but it has to be done. These are amazing photos by the way! Great to see the before and after. Matt

        aboslutely Ron, please repost:

        Why Censorship Is Wrong
Censorship is wrong for one simple reason: because those in authority who censor things are treating people like children. Real freedom means letting individuals judge things for themselves. Real freedom means allowing individuals to exercise judgment. Censorship, of whatever kind and from whatever motive, is a denial of freedom because real freedom is not about personal choice or even about individual "rights" - it is about being able to develope personal character and being able to make one's own judgement. To be able to judge a thing, it is necessary have factual, accurate knowledge about that thing and this factual, unbiased knowledge is the first thing that suffers when there is any form of censorship.

This is a sensitive subject that has come up before and, as usual, it pits the left of center against the right of center which can evolve into heated commentary. Ultimately, it will be up to the moderators of this sub-forum to decide whether or not controversial photos remain or are removed. The Wehrmacht Awards site rules (see the home page) will prevail.

A Warning should suffice....Please repost those photos! The photographic casualties of war is just as important for all to see. Just because one or two people feel offended or impose their morals on others does not mean we cannot show these types of photos...I have posted German as well as American war dead photos...a very small part of what I collect but a big part non the less. It is important that we do not forget what war is all about. Bill Petz
