The unit is identified has 2./K.A. 4 and is dated 29.9.1942.

    Many thanks, Gareth

Sounds like its Kradschützen Abteilung 4. Is it hospital or unit issued?

your guy was luckier than many of his comrades.

This is 2 Schwadron, Kradschützen Abteilung 4 of the 24 Pz.Div. the stamp is that of Kradschützen Ausbildungs Abteilung 24 and it's signed by it's commander at the time Major Wolfdietrich Goder.

I say lucky because he was wounded and clearly evacuated at Stalingrad where his unit and division would subsequently be destroyed.

            Nice document.
I thought it was 2 Battery - 4th Artillery Regiment, 14th Panzer Div.
Also destroyed at Stalingrad. (I thought the stamp showed a 14, not a 24 !)
Anyway, I have a lot to learn in reading these documents.
