Well they look like fallschirmjäger to me going on the helemt shapes and the smocks and baggy trousers they are wearing.
And on where it is just a guess maybe the russian front,then it could be just in germany or france too?.

Thanks for that info Chris,but thats just german name for france right,and looking at info cant see german FJ units in france in 1942.Like most divisons formed there seems to be in 1943-44,but so many other units too it could be.Like ones just passing through on way elsewhere in europe etc...,or there on some sort of training hard to know exactly.

Like for example this FJ unit says in formed in france in 1942/43,maybe there from it?.
