Nazi Court Martial 1947?

Good Morning guys.
I have translated the following letter which arrived with soldier documents i recently got, but my german-english translator isnt great.
Can someone confirm that this says basically:
25th may 1940 nazi court martial for failing to answer the Nazi salute! & got 3 1/2 years prison.
Is this a release note?

Dan,
you are right with what the first text says. In fact both texts are affidavits. Both signers appreciate the way Oblt. Kleinschrod carried out his duty, i.e. very friendly, fair, not influenced by Nazi politics etc...
