    Value of a Olympia-Ehrenzeichen 2d class

    Hi award docs collectors,

I hope some of you can help me.

I'm not really an award document guy then can any of you help me about the value of an "Olympia-Ehrenzeichen 2d class". Is the a recent cotation ?
Mine was attributed to one of the leader of the Reichsbahn Direktion Berlin for his work during the games...

    thanks

    Michael

Prices are always very subjective. Have you checked the various dealer sites available? If so, you can usually knock off about 20% to get a ballpark figure.

I would guess-timate that this document would bring in the 50 euro range, maybe a bit more or less. The recipient is not particularly glamorous or well known, that'd be about the only thing that would bump up the value, normally. --EDIT-- or if it was hand-signed by Hitler.

Hank, I'll have to differ with you. This is the document for the second class cross, not the medal. This one would probably bring about $200 or more.

Civilian documents are not my thing but from what i understand this second class award is quite rare. I don't have it to hand but what does Detlev's guide suggest? Forman's has it at $600 and prices there are generally way out of date.

[edit] Detlev's guide puts the 2nd class docs at 300 Euros

See? "Told you so". Prices are subjective.

You've got my guess - 50 euro or so, which is what I'd pay. (Either I'd unknowingly get a good deal, or you'd called me either retarded or a cheat for trying to low-ball you.)
Richard, who is knowledgable, around 200.
And Simon, who is also VERY knowledgable, around 600.

Depends who is buying, selling, and valuing.

              best!

But do keep me in mind if you decide to sell one for 50 Euro!

Promise! But if they're worth as much as you and Simon say, not likely one will be crossing my low-budget path anytime soon!!

                    Thanks for your help.
In fact Simon cotation match opinions I received per pm.
                    When dates DN book ?

I am thinking about "will I sell it or not ?" because this one is not from a well known soldier but researched and from an very high reichsbahn leader. This valuation can help me to decide...

                    thank
