    49 Carl Werner Postcards??

What can you all tell me about these Carl Werner Postcards. They were in with some boxes of photos, papers, patches and correspondence that a WW2 veteran gave me. The captions on most are in Italian, I believe.

Most of the pictures are on my website, that is available through my profile (look for the WW2 section).

After posting this, I found four more of the postcards in the box, along with a cover and description sheet marked 1944, with a Tiger 1 on the cover - all in Italian. I Googeled Werner and found a calander set of his on eBay. The same postcard pictures on a calender which was in Russian. The asking price was $1,200!

    Thanks all!

Nobody? Are they rare? I collect East German, so the WW2 stuff is out of my experience. Can't say I have seen these cards at shows. Anyone?

      Jeff,
I have this same calendar but in Portugese. It is complete right down to the string on the back of it to hang it on a wall. I puchased it from a collector in Portugal about 5 years ago for $80. $1250 for one that appears to be incomplete is a real stretch.

Carl Werner also did large format Luftwaffe color calendars and the large format set of color plates about the Wehrmacht. I also have these in various levels of completeness.

      Regards,
      Ed
